"It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High" - Psalm 92: 1 (NIV)

"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus." - Romans 15:5 (NIV)

 Mission Statement

Mt. Zion's Drumline & Color Guard encourages young students to pursue a musical interest and participate in a positive, spiritual way.  Changing the community, one child at a time.

Who We Are

The vision of the Drumline is to become a full marching band unit with a horn-line.  Teaching kids, ages 7-21,  music provides a constructive, purposeful means of expression.  It also provides a positive environment, helping participants avoid involvement in negative behavior.  It also teaches young students to give back to their community and respect themselves and others.  Drumline and Color Guard members are  kept busy by re-directing their attention in a fun, but spiritual manner.

What Does It Take?

To make it onto the Drumline & Color Guard takes hard work and dedication, but more importantly, all participants must make good choices, respect their parents and other adults, maintain good grades in school and abide by the law.

In addition to performances at church, our Drumline and Color Guard members march annually – along with various ministries of the church – in the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade and performs throughout St. Petersburg and Tampa, i.e., at the St. Petersburg Pier, the opening of the new state-of-the-art and renowned All Children’s Hospital, Juneteenth celebrations, Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball Games, Saturday Morning Market and First Night (New Years Eve celebrations) in downtown St. Petersburg, and other community organization events.

Band and Color Guard member rehearsal schedule is based on booking schedule.  Rehearsals are held in the Band House.
